Teriyaki Burgers

A tasty Japanese take on the popular family favourite!

Preparation:

  1. In a plastic bowl, combine the breadcrumbs with the milk and leave to soak until all the liquid has been absorbed.
  2. Add the mince, onions, egg, salt and pepper and mix everything with your hands.
  3. Shape 8 hamburgers out of the mixture.
  4. Melt the butter in a frying pan and fry the burgers until cooked through.
  5. In a small saucepan heat the mirin, then add the soy sauce and sugar and simmer the mixture for 1-2 minutes to make the teriyaki sauce.
  6. Pour the sauce over the cooked hamburgers and serve on the burger buns with rocket, tomatoes and a bit of mayonnaise.

Useful tip:

You can also make these hamburgers using just minced beef.
