Fried Fragrant Bananas
These battered bananas are delicious and slightly sinful, but go on – you deserve it!
Preparation:
- Make the batter: combine the flour, milk, butter and sugar with enough water to beat and make a thick batter.
- Cut the bananas into 3cm lengths
- Fill the wok ¼ full with oil and heat to a medium high temperature 180’C/ 350’F or until a piece of bread browns in 15 seconds when dropped in the oil. Dip the bananas into the oil and carefully fry them for 3 mins or until golden brown on all sides. Drain on paper towels, dust with icing sugar and for those with an extra sweet tooth serve with vanilla ice-cream.
