Sapodilla
A fruit with a thin brown skin which is slightly rough. The flesh is slightly granular in texture and pale beige to reddish-brown in colour. The fruit has flat black seeds. It tastes sweet when ripe and has a gentle fragrance. One variety contains latex that is used commercially in the production of chewing gum. Best eaten fresh.
