Pomelo
The largest of the citrus fruits, it looks like a grapfruit with a slightly pointed stem end and can grow up to the size of a football. The flesh is sweeter than that of the grapefruit, although somewhat drier. It is often eaten in a savourey context, served with meat or shellfish and seasoned with salt, lime juice and chilli. The skin and pith can be inches thick, so pick one which is heavy for its size! Also known as: som-or (Thai), buoi (Vietnamese).
