Hoi Sin

Hoi Sin

Also known as Barbeque Sauce, hoisin originates from the Cantonese area of China. It is made from yellow beans which are seasoned with sugar, vinegar, salt, chilli, garlic, sesame oil and red colouring, with flour and water used as a thickener. Erroneously, hoi sin has been served with Peking and crispy aromatic duck pancakes in the West. In actual fact, Duck Sauce is the correct condiment to be used.
